Located just 2 miles outside the city of Athens OH on state route 550, the building has been a part of the local community for over 50 plus years. It has always been a place where locals could come and have a good time, outside of the busy college town setting. 

In May 2017 John and Deb bought the building and renamed it Mel's Roadhouse and have since then continued the tradition of offering a clean and casual setting for those working and living in the area to relax and unwind.  

They did a full remodel of the interior of the building, equipment and the property; using area businesses and contractors to help complete the work. Some of the most notable updates our patrons enjoy are the covered rear patio and the extended  beer garden.
